Let me start by saying if you’re not a Doctor Who fan some of what I say in the next paragraph will be completely foreign to you but I hope that the brief explanation will help will help illustrate what I’m trying to say. So, here goes:

Most Whovians (fans of the TV show Doctor Who) will vividly recall the moment when we felt that they were about to lose our precious 10th Doctor (at the time played by David Tennant). Excitement and sadness both fell upon us as we saw him go into a regeneration sequence but then focus all of that regenerative energy into his own hand sitting in a jar (I know, this is a whole other story onto itself) then and we saw him turn into… himself. Himself? Yeah. That particular version of the Doctor was then adoringly referred to as “10.5” primarily because he was the same Doctor just “updated”.

If I get any further into the history or describing the show I’ll probably lose most of you (if I haven’t already) but that brief scene from Doctor Who describes how I feel about this version of my website. As the convergence of my personal site and photography site continue I made the decision to no longer brand my site “[Heyzen:Contreras](dot)com” (a name that I’ve carried for the better part of 10 years now) and refocus my energy into “[Heyzen:Contreras] | Photography” mainly because it’s what the site is dedicated to. So what changed? Not much, really. The landing page (Home) is certainly different and the blog page itself was updated a bit but in general the site is the same. The biggest difference though is that this new version should respond a little better to mobile devices and should also load a bit faster than the last. Also, the ability to pin images to Pinterest is new.

If you’ve never been here before, welcome. If you’ve been here and just don’t remember what the last home page looked like, here is a screen shot of the design that I launched July 26, 2013.

What do you think of the changes? They’re subtle but ultimately I think it’ll be a better experience. Are you viewing this on a mobile device or a regular computer? Leave a comment down below and let me know how things are working, I’d love some feedback.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the episode of Doctor Who where the scene I describe happens is “Journey’s End” at the end of the new Season 4.
