Every family has traditions. For over 50 years, my grandmother has helped one in our family stay alive by holding on to a small mariachi outfit. About 53 years ago, my cousin wore the mariachi suit when he was about 2 years old, my uncle then wore it when he turned two, as did I and then so did several of my cousins when they were about the same age. I’m proud to say that my son now gets to continue that tradition by dawning the traditional garb.
