Yesterday’s picture brings to light an old adage: the pen is mightier than the sword… unless you’re fighting a dragon. Or a sharktopus. Yup. I’m pretty sure a pen won’t help you at all in those situations. And before we get into any Sean Connery jokes, yes, there is a space in between those two words.

Joking aside, the pen you see in this picture was actually handmade by my wife’s cousin’s husband David, otherwise known to me as my cousin, David. It is true, though, the pen is mightier than the sword. Most sword wounds can heal but a pen has the power to change lives in far more drastic ways with a quick stroke. The pen can change a person’s life for the worst or for the better. I’m very happy to say that I use the pen that David made for me on a frequent basis and that I’ve definitely gotten to use it in several life changing situations. 🙂
