For those of you that don’t know, I’m really into magic but I also love collecting card decks with different designs on them. Over the years I’ve collected specialized card decks that different companies design. Although not with all of them, a major problem I have seen with many of these specialty decks is the lack the care that goes into them. Since most of them are made on large printing presses designed for mass production, when they are cut the edges are uneven in conjunction to the printed images, they’re too rough, they handle poorly and quite frankly just suck. Several months ago I received an email from a magician that I have been following for a little less than a year now named Lee Asher. Lee decided that he was bugged by some of those things as well, however, he set out to create a great deck of cards. He teamed with Fournier in Vitoria, Spain and the new Lee Asher 605’s were born! I received my pre-ordered decks a couple of days ago (fulfilled by Steve at Grand Illusions up in Carmichael, CA, wassup?!) and I have to say… this isn’t your regular Bike deck anymore. The cards handle great! As you pull them out the box you will notice a few things that are different in than a normal bicycle deck, 1. the cards are just ever so slightly heavier than a regular Bicycle deck, 2. the cards have a great plastic coating to prevent them from being damaged as quickly as other decks and, 3. the cards are a lot sturdier than most decks. This makes them ideal for card magic or even just dealing a hand of poker (or Go Fish! in my case)! If those reasons weren’t enough, the cards received an ISO 9001: 2000 certification from Lloyd’s of London Register Quality Assurance.
If you’re a card deck collector or are into magic, these are definitely some of the finest cards ever produced and definitely a deck of cards that you need in your arsenal!
